Overview:
The current state of many
health plan systems can be described overall as aging, monolithic,
inflexible with soiled application maintenance approaches. There
is an increased level of disorder among computer applications and
a growing ineffectiveness within the organization to quickly change
its process and supporting technology to meeting customer and industry
demands.
Although a long road, integrating
the entire health care supply chain on behalf of consumers needs
to be the industry's ultimate goal and health plans can't afford
to wait to get started. There are several steps that health plans
can take now to improve information access and begin to improve
the customer experience.
